Which Stove Should I Buy?
This is often the big question that needs answered. You have made the decision that you want to fit a stove or wood burner but which one should you choose? Below are the questions that you need to ask yourself.
- What type of fuel do I wish to use
- What size of stove do I need for the job
- Do I want a boiler stove for central heating or hot water
- Which designs do I like
What type of fuel?
You will need to decide between a multi-fuel stove or a dedicated wood burning stove. If you are intent on burning only wood you will most likely choose a dedicated wood burner designed for the job and a range of these can be found in our Wood Burning Stoves Category. Be careful to check if you are in a smoke controlled area as if you wish to burn wood in a Smoke Control Area you will have to use a DEFRA Approved Wood Burning Stove to suit legislation. Try the DEFRA web site at the following link http://smokecontrol.defra.gov.uk/ for further information. If you wish to burn other types of fuel like coal, peat (turf) or have the choice of burning wood and other fuels then you should choose a multi-fuel stove form our Multi-Fuel Stoves Category.
