Proof that wood-burning stoves really do help you out in times of crisis

We frequently use this blog to tell you that a wood-burning stove is a vital thing to have in your home in times of emergency.

We always profess that bad weather is a great technological leveller and that it’s always best to have a backup you can trust in case a boiler breaks, a pipe cracks or a delivery gets cancelled. It’s all very easy for us to say, you might think.

So imagine our delight when Gr8Fires customers Dean and Rachel Attwood got in touch via our Facebook page last night.

Here’s what they had to say:

“Today our central heating packed up with no warning whatsoever, so just how glad do you think we are for buying our wood burning stove from you a good while ago.

“We heat up the room and then let it out round the house. We have no heating / hot water for all night now so it’s off to bed early to keep warm but at least we can all sit round the wood burner and keep toasty warm.

“Thank you once again for coming up trumps for us.”

We can waffle on for ages about how a wood-burning stove can dig you out of the hole, but it’s far more powerful to get a real-life story of one of our stoves coming to someone’s rescue.

A big thank you to Dean and Rachel for taking the time to share that with us.

If you’ve not yet got your heating backup plan in place, have a look at our stoves.
